On this cold, rainy day in Brooklyn, there’s nothing I’d rather write about that fun, tropical fashion! I got a gorgeous vintage Hawaiian barkcloth jacket in the mail the other day and it inspired me to put together some fresh vacation-inspired looks from items I already have in my closet.
Proportion-play, pop color accessories, and prints were key. I linked to similar items for each outfit, so you can get the look too. ♥
Above, my vintage Hawaiian barkcloth jacket (check out a similar palm print), a pair of clear blue sunnies, a wooden beaded necklace, and my favorite high-rise denim shorts, all accented with a neon spike bracelet.
Above, a marigold kimono robe, a sheer pink net top (made by moi for Bombay Mermaid Trading Co!), a tropical print mini-skirt, topped off with a pastel beaded necklace.
Above, another sheer top made by moi for Bombay Mermaid Trading Co, crocheted shorts, a black bikini top (summer essential, wear it under everything!), a tribal-inspired necklace, Essie glitter polish and a cute makeup bag—linked to one I like even more than mine. ;}
Of course, until we have a shift towards summer weather, I’ll be wearing these inside with the windows closed and a cup of hot tea, watching surfing movies on Netflix. But none the less!
