As I write this I’m arriving in Lima—another day, another city. I could never have planned for the non-stop inspiration (style, food, attitude, atmosphere, color) Peru is delivering every time I walk down the street and explore… and at this point, I’ve bought so much fabric I might need another suitcase.
Speaking of style, color, and fabric, here’s last week’s outfit shoot on the roof in Arequipa, featuring another high impact dose of David Dalrymple for House of Field! I had too much fun combining the woven bustier, audacious accessories from my Pat Field stash, rainbow knits, and Peruvian textiles from the Feria del altiplano.
Mmmm, the non-stop sunshine. If you like this top, you’ll probably love the matching skirt. Grab the Vogue hat and the earrings while you’re at it! If you love the textile… you’ll have to come down to the south, baby.
I’m also wearing a necklace that my beautiful friend Anastasia brought me back from Thailand. It’s hand-made and insanely beautiful.
Eating a stuffed llama. All in a days work.
Not gonna lie, this outfit made me miss New York City… perhaps the only place in the world you can go out dressed like a kaleidoscope and not turn heads.
Come on, Arequipa—who doesn’t shop for Kola Escocesa at the bodega in full costume? ;}
Here’s to fashion being FUN!
P.S. All of these colorful photos were taken by my better half, Raffael Flores-Contreras.
